Finally ASDIP 4.0 is out !! Some great improvements are implemented in
this release 4.0, as briefly described below:
- The math of all programs has been thoroughly reviewed and checked.
- All programs have been updated in accordance with the latest design
theories and building code provisions.
- The new REPORT page shows a pre-formatted detailed calculations report
in every program.
- Both the TEMPLATE and the REPORT pages show the selected units system.
- The context-sensitive help has been updated and expanded.
- The graphs in every program have been improved and enhanced.
- When the pointer passes over an input field, the status bar shows
now a brief description of that field.
- Automatic recalculation commands have been strategically added to
minimize the F9 strokes in Manual mode.
- You may now switch to other units systems back and forth seamlessly.
- Excellent quality reports, with combined text-with-values messages
updated with each new change.
- The built-in steel properties database has been expanded to include
W, S, M, HP, C, MC, HSS and pipe sections. The last version only included
W sections.
- In the Base Plate Design program,
the calculations have been reorganized for easier understanding of the
different theories. The steel column may now be different than a W-section.
- In the Composite Beam Design program,
the stresses calculation has been reviewed to fully comply with the
AISC provisions. The shear stud capacity reduction factor has been corrected.
- The Corbel & Beam Ledge Design program
has been modified to comply with ACI 318-02.
- The Deep Beam Design program has been modified
to comply with ACI 318-02.
- The Rectangular Column Design program
has been extensively modified to include the slenderness effects, as
per ACI 318-02.
- The Circular Column Design program has
been extensively modified to include the slenderness effects, as per
ACI 318-02.
- In the Lateral Loads Distribution program,
a new graph has been added to show the Layout Plan.
- In the Slender Masonry Wall Design program,
you may select between either UBC 97, IBC 03 or IBC 06 code. All the
differences in the code provisions are internally handled by the program.
- The Retaining Wall Design program has been
extensively enhanced. The lateral pressures may now be calculated as
per either Rankine or Coulomb theory. Seismic design is now included
as per the Mononobe-Okabe approach. Concrete design as per ACI 318-02.
- The Spread Footing Design program has been
updated and enhanced as per ACI 318-02. The program now checks the load
transfer from the column to the footing.
- In the Steel Beam Design program, the
section may now be different than W, and the program performs the design
accordingly.
- In the Steel Column Design program, the
section may now be different than W, and the program performs the design
accordingly.
- The Concrete Beam Design program has been
updated to comply with ACI 318-02.
- The Shear Wall Seismic Design program has
been extensively enhanced and updated to comply with ACI 318-02.
