Security Features
ASDIP has a number of security features to protect your data.
- ASDIP is designed to protect you against unexpected changes that might
alter the nature of the model. All the formulas in ASDIP are protected
against changes, with the exception of the data input fields, which
appear in blue and bold.
- When you save your workbook, only the input data is actually stored
in a .BDT file. All the formulas, formatting attributes, etc., remain
unchanged. The next time you open a workbook it looks exactly like the
previous session, which assures a consistency in the characteristic
high quality of ASDIP.
- When the data is entered through a dialog box, ASDIP validates your
input data for common mistakes, such as negative material properties,
rebar size number, etc.

Tips & Tricks
Conceived and designed by and for structural engineers, ASDIP 4.0 represents
the result of more than 13 years of continuous development and improvement.
This software is constantly evolving to assure you the highest quality
level, and future releases will include even more programs to better assist
you in your design tasks. Any suggestion for improvement or problem report
will be appreciated.
Please read the following notes and tips carefully regarding ASDIP version
4.0, to get out the most from your software:
- ASDIP uses a fill-in-the-blanks format to efficiently manage, in
a simple and elegant manner, complex design algorithms transparently
to the end user. For easier identification, the input fields appear
blue and bold, and are the only
fields that may be modified.
- The recalculation mode may be either AUTOMATIC or MANUAL. "Manual"
means that ASDIP will recalculate all formulas ONLY when you press the
[F9] key or click on the corresponding icon on the tool bar. When the
data changes, ASDIP shows a "CALC" indicator on the status
bar to remind you that the formulas need to be recalculated. AUTOMATIC
mode is the default.
- ASDIP allows also the entry of data directly on the template. To
do so, the recalculation mode must be set to "Manual". Alternatively,
you may enter the data by using the set of dialog boxes provided in
every program. TIP: Double-click on any input field to quickly access
the corresponding dialog box.
- ASDIP allows up to five open applications at the same time. Of course,
you may switch between open applications and work on all of them simultaneously.
Simply select the application you wish from the Navigate pull-down menu.
