ASDIP Structural Software announces the release of ASDIP ANALYSIS 2 engineering software. Design professionals utilize ASDIP ANALYSIS software for the generation of loads, as well as for the analysis of structural members. The following are some of the most important features and benefits included in this version 2.

This version includes four modules:
Seismic Loads
New module. ASDIP ANALYSIS includes the generation of seismic loads per the Equivalent Lateral Force procedure of the ASCE 7.
The program calculates the fundamental period of the structure and the seismic response coefficient, based on the provided ground motion parameters. The software has a built-in database with the seismic factors and coefficients corresponding to the seismic force resisting system of the structure.
Once the seismic base shear is calculated, the program distributes the seismic forces vertically to find the story shears as well as the diaphragm forces. In addition, the program shows a graphical view of the building elevation with the seismic lateral forces at each story.

Snow Loads
New module. The software includes the generation of snow loads per the ASCE 7 provisions. It calculates the flat roof snow load based on the provided ground snow load and exposure factor. Then it calculates the sloped roof snow load for the slope angle and type of surface.
The snow drift load is calculated for four different conditions: at roof step, at parapet, at roof projection, and at adjacent structure. For each condition, the software calculates the maximum drift height and drift length to find the total drift load.
The program shows graphically the snow drift elevation of the different conditions considered in the analysis, showing the heights, lengths, and total snow loads to be considered in the design.

Wind Loads
New module. ASDIP ANALYSIS includes the generation of wind loads for MWFRS (Envelope procedure) and C&C per the ASCE 7 provisions.
The program calculates the velocity pressure based on the provided wind parameters and the exposure coefficient. Then the software calculates the design wind pressures (positive and negative) for the different MWFRS load cases and surface zones.
In addition, the program finds the C&C pressure coefficients and calculates the wind pressures for the different roof and wall zones. Finally, the Graph tab includes the corresponding images for MWFRS and C&C showing the wind zones.

Beam Analysis
New module. ASDIP ANALYSIS generates the shear and moment diagrams of a continuous beam subject to uniform, variable, concentrated, and moment loads. Load combinations per ASCE 7 or CSA A23.3.
The beam can have up to five spans and two end cantilevers. The program calculates the support reactions, shear forces, bending moments, and torsional moments per load combination. In addition, the software calculates the beam deflections.
The Diagram tab shows the beam elevation, the shear diagram, and the moment diagram. The images can be sorted by load combination.

Takeaway
ASDIP ANALYSIS 2 has been released. It includes the generation of seismic, snow, and wind loads, in addition to the analysis of continuous beams. The calculations may be completed in minutes.
