Design professionals utilize ASDIP WOOD software for the structural design of wood members. A new feature has been added to the software to include the design of Composite Lumber sections. The following is a brief description of this new feature in ASDIP WOOD.
Composite Lumber sections
Now all the three modules included in the package have a new section type button in the Geometry tab for Composite Lumber. When this button is clicked, a new combo box is presented to specify the Composite section type per manufacturer, as shown below.
Database or User-defined
ASDIP WOOD includes a full set of databases for section properties, as well as material properties. Alternatively, this information can be entered manually as user-defined. This will provide a great flexibility to the use of the software.
The material types included in the software are Sawn Lumber and Glued Laminated. Now Composite Lumber engineered materials, such as as LVL, LSL, PSL, have been added, so the corresponding databases will show up when this section type is specified.
Three Different Reports
ASDIP WOOD will show the results in three different reports, with increasing degree of detailed information: At-a-Glance, Condensed, and Detailed. All the reports include the new Composite Lumber sections, and the corresponding detailed calculations.
ASDIP WOOD now includes anew feature for the design of Composite Lumber sections. The user-friendly and intuitive interface allows modeling these sections and complete the design in minutes with the use of the software.
