A typical project may contain a large number of calculations for the design of structural members. These calculations are created and added to the project in the order they are produced. But what about if you want to sort your calculations in a specific order? This document shows how to sort your calculations directly from the Project Manager, just with a click of the mouse. This new feature in ASDIP will save you time and effort for projects with a large number of calculations that need to be sorted.
Sorting Calculations
Imagine the scenario where you have created some footing calculations for a building, and each calculation has a name. Then you have to revise some of those calculations due to some changes in loads, so you have to modify the name to reflect the change. Then you submit your calcs to a reviewer, who in turn proposes some additional changes, so you have to change the name again to reflect this new change, and so on. At the end, you will have a mess of unsorted calculations.
Fortunately, ASDIP now includes a new feature where you can sort the calculations alphabetically, either in ascending or descending order. All this with just a click of your mouse to get all the calculations sorted directly from the ASDIP Project Manager.
To use this feature, go to the ASDIP Project Manager and note that now there are two arrows below the tree window, one down and one up, to sort the calculations in descending or ascending alphabetic order respectively. To sort your calculations, please click on the arrow buttons.
At the end, all the calculations in the tree will be sorted. If you save your project, the new sorted arrangement will be saved as well, so the next time that you open the project the calculations will be sorted. The images below show a project with multiple calculations, unsorted at the left and sorted at the right. Please note that this feature has been implemented in all the ASDIP packages. Please make use of this feature and provide your feedback.

Takeaway
ASDIP includes a new feature for sorting the project calculations directly from the Project Manager. This will be very useful for projects with a large number of calculations, where the calculations order must match other documents.
