Structural Analysis
ASDIP ANALYSIS is an engineering software that performs the analysis of structural members and loads generation such as analysis of beams, seismic loads, snow loads, and wind loads.

What is Structural Analysis?
Structural Analysis is the method of investigating the stiffness, strength and stability of structures. The main aim of structural analysis and design is to come up with a structure that can successfully resist all the applied loads during its intended life.
The structural analysis consists of the calculation of the effects of the loads applied to the structure, also called the internal forces or required strengths. These are typically the shear and axial forces as well as the bending moments along the members that compose the structure.
The Structural Analysis Process
Upon pinpointing the codes that are to be used in structural design, the following two areas to look at are the load considerations and the calculation of the internal forces. Applicable load considerations depend on the occupancy and type of the project. Design codes will establish the minimum dead and live loads. A seismic load, snow load, and wind load should also be calculated considering the project location and the geometry of the structure. Calculations of stresses, shears, moments, deflections, etc., will depend on the considered loads for the project.
For example, a continuous beam subject to multiple types of loads will show a variable distribution of shears and moments along the beam spans, which in turn will produce deflections and support reactions. The structural analysis of this beam will calculate the reactions, as well as the shear, moment, and deflection diagrams.
ASDIP ANALYSIS includes the loads generation, and structural analysis of the members described above. The ASDIP team has published a series of blog posts on a regular basis covering many technical topics related to the analysis and design of structures. Our philosophy is to provide the engineering community in general, and particularly our customers, the required tools to complete the structural design tasks effectively in less time and with less effort.
